February 1999 - founded and registered the first private insurance company in Albania.
October 2002 - Sigma entered the Macedonian market and started its activity in 2003.
September 2004 - Sigma licensed to operate in Kosovo through its branch.
September 2007 - Sigma becomes part of Vienna Insurance Group.
October 2014 - Sigma and Interalbanian companies merged and operated in the market under the name Sigma Interalbanian VIG.
May 2016 - Mr. Qemal Disha retires from his position as the historical leader of Sigma, to hand over the management to Mr. Klaidi Çitozi.
Year 2020 - Mr. Klaidi Çitozi assigned at the position of Chairman of the Association of Insurers of Albania.
June 2023 - The General Assembly of Shareholders of the Company decided to restore the name Sigma Vienna Insurance Group
