A Day with the Children of Rrëshen – Sharing Joy and Hope
At Sigma Vienna Insurance Group (Sigma VIG), we believe that every act of kindness can bring lasting smiles. One of our most heartfelt initiatives was a day spent with children from Rrëshen, organized with the aim of creating beautiful memories and moments of happiness for those in need.
Austria has always shared a special connection with Northern Albania, particularly with Mirdita, an area that has often been the focus of social and humanitarian support. This time, Sigma VIG chose to assist an association in Rrëshen that helps children in need by providing food, clothing, and access to education.
The Sigma VIG team came together and collected contributions from staff members, each giving what they could to make this day special. Despite the rainy start, the trip began early with a luxury bus heading toward Rrëshen to pick up the children. Laughter and excitement filled the air as they played during the ride.
Upon arriving in Tirana, the weather turned stormy, so instead of the planned walk through the city center, the group enjoyed time at a children’s play center filled with games and activities for all ages. Soon after, the sun came out again—just in time for the next adventure: a ride to Mount Dajti.
Thanks to Sigma VIG’s partnership with Dajti Express, the children experienced the cable car journey to the mountain for the very first time, enjoying breathtaking views, sunshine, and even a rainbow along the way. At the top, they shared a delicious pizza lunch at the Dajti Express restaurant, kindly offered by our team, before heading to their final surprise of the day—a visit to the cinema.
For many of these children, it was their first time seeing a cable car, arcade games, or even a movie on the big screen. The joy and wonder on their faces were priceless and deeply moving for everyone involved. Through initiatives like this, Sigma VIG Albania continues to nurture a spirit of solidarity, social responsibility, and care for children, helping create a brighter and more inclusive future for our communities.
