Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) is a company that offers a wide range of insurance products and services across Central and Eastern Europe. With over 50 subsidiaries and approximately 25,000 employees in 25 countries, VIG is an insurance group that effectively meets the insurance needs of every type of business.
The roots of Vienna Insurance Group date back more than 200 years in Austria, and since 2007, it has also been present in Albania. Since 2012, VIG has encouraged employee participation in social activities that serve the community, and for this purpose, each year it awards the Günter Geyer Prize to three different companies within the group. This is a highly significant award for the Group, as it bears the name of the Chairman of the VIG Board.
Having been close to individuals and businesses for so many years, it naturally brings a great responsibility not only toward Sigma VIG’s clients but also toward citizens in need. Our company has always been sensitive to such cases, contributing to ease their difficult situations, even if just a little.
For years, we have collaborated with the “Fundjavë Ndryshe” foundation to identify the most urgent cases. The entire company staff was very enthusiastic when the proposal was made to help a group of children from the village of Mamël by contributing to their transportation to school. Our shareholders in Vienna were equally enthusiastic about this project, which they honored with the Günter Geyer Award, valued at €20,000, funds that are to be used again in service of the community.
We consider education to be the foundation of building a strong and value-driven society. This was the reason we supported another project focused on strengthening knowledge. We hope that furnishing the library at the “Center of Solidarity,” made possible through these funds, will build not only a quality book collection but also a community of readers eager for knowledge.
