Sigma VIG and Commitment to Social Responsibility during Social Active Day
During the last weekend of October 2023, the staff of Sigma Vienna Insurance Group came together for a special day dedicated to social responsibility and community service: Social Active Day. Around 60 enthusiastic Sigma VIG colleagues fully committed themselves to cleaning the Han i Hotit border crossing, a key location that serves as a “showcase” of Albania for the numerous tourists entering and exiting the country throughout the year. Due to the high tourist traffic this year, the surrounding areas of the border post urgently needed maintenance and cleaning.
Equipped with all necessary tools and accessories, the Sigma VIG team spent an entire day cleaning the area, collecting a significant amount of plastic waste—materials that take up to 450 years to decompose. This initiative was not only aimed at improving the appearance of the site but also at raising environmental awareness among tourists and the local community, promoting respect for the rich natural heritage of the region.
Beyond its positive impact on the environment and community, Social Active Day strengthened the bonds among colleagues, fostering collaboration and memorable experiences. Sigma VIG believes that engaging in social causes enhances not only professional performance but also civic impact, reflecting the day’s motto:“WE DID IT TOGETHER!”
